The landscape of last-mile logistics is evolving rapidly, driven by surging demand and shifting consumer behavior. Traditional systems are struggling to keep up with emerging fulfillment models and the sudden introduction of shorter delivery timeframes. In this context, the spotlight is on factors like visibility, resilience, and usability, prompting organizations to reevaluate their existing technology stack.
Consequently, businesses are intensifying their investments in technology infrastructure. With global spending on digital transformation initiatives projected to reach $2.8 trillion by 2025, it's evident that IT teams are becoming substantial cost centers for enterprises.
As businesses seek to align their logistics fulfillment strategies with industry best practices to handle escalations and ensure timely deliveries, a significant question arises: Should companies develop solutions from the ground up or invest in existing last-mile logistics solutions?
